Today is National Kissing Day! Today a day to get out there and celebrate by giving kisses to everyone who means something to you.

But why do we kiss?  Historians and anthropologists have some theories on the origins of kissing. Some believe that it is instinctual and intuitive, almost like animal instinct. Others believe the theory that kissing originated thousands of years ago and derived from the habit of a parent feeding their child mouth-to-mouth (like birds feeding their young, there was a time when humans fed their children the same way).  The theory with the greatest support is that kissing is a learned behavior.  This is based on the fact that not all humans kiss. Certain cultures around the world simply don’t kiss, it's hard to imagine, but it's true.  Humans aren’t the only kissers. Dolphins, apes, cats, and dogs are all kissing fools as well.

 We think every day is the perfect day to pucker up and show affection to those we love, but today lets all get extra smoochy and plant some smackers on t show some love.
